Tanmay is a software engineer with over 20 years of industry experience.

He is a seasoned programmer with expertise in Python, Erlang, C++, Haskell, and F#. He has extensive experience developing numerical libraries and frameworks for investment banking businesses. He was also instrumental in the design and development of a risk framework in Python (pandas, NumPy, and Django) for a wealth fund in Singapore. Tanmay holds a Master's degree in Financial Engineering from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and a certification in Computational Finance from Tepper Business School, Carnegie Mellon University.

He has built production-grade software for organisations across multiple industries and has consulted with firms on API design and product development.

He is the author of NumPy Essentials (Packt Publishing).

He was the original author of the Fattmerchant Python API client.

His expertise spans Python, Java, C++, C, Erlang, Perl, Ruby, SQL, JavaScript, Shell scripting, Clojure (JVM), R, and Solidity, among others. He is proficient with tools and platforms including Oracle Coherence, GigaSpaces, MySQL, Git, and ITIL methodology.

He has designed and built production systems including market data persistence platforms for the Tokyo Stock Exchange, serving both internal and client-facing applications.

He has also published multiple Android and iOS applications.
